    Re: Selling Woes

It all depends how much your asking for the quad. I would of defenitly taken the 50 bucks and made a weekend out of it if say you were selling the quad for 3 g's or more. But in all honestly, if I was buying the quad, and I lived 8 hours away, I wouldn't expect the seller to meet half way. I would accept the fact that I would have to drive the distance to get what I wanted.

Popp said it perfectly. Both about selling the quad and about the legal aspect of it. Its your choice. Do as you see fit.

Thanks for the input. I guess that's all it comes down to. The price is soo low it's ridiculous. That is the main reason I wanted to be compensated for my driving. I do not have to sell it either. Cheers!

          This bothers me.
Whether or not you need the money shouldn't even be on the table.

You posted something for sale and agreed to terms, now it sounds to me like you are trying to justify to yourself backing out of a sale after agreeing to those terms because you think you dont need the money that bad.

If someone told me, they would deliver for "the right price" and we then agreed on the price of the item, i would believe that the price includes everything to get me the item in my hands, ie. delivery.

Not to mention, even after he offers you $50 and you say no?

I dont know a hell of a lot about quads, but I do know they're more than a couple of hundred bucks.
If he offered you $50 less on the price of the quad would you still sell it if he picked up? probably. So why are you backing away when he's paying you the full price and you'll be out of pocket the $50 driving expenses you wanted?

There is nothing worse than sellers who change the deal after agreement has been made.

            Re: Selling Woes

We never agreed on a delivered price!!! And I have been absolutely clear that the price is firm! I am not backing out of any deal..it was never negotiated, he asked if I would consider meeting half way after the price was negotiated and I said for the right price, meaning for some compensation.

I never agreed to any to a price including delivery it was never negotiated. I am not backing out of a deal because there never was a deal finalized.

this is true, but just drive out and sell the stupid thing, it's pocket change in the long run. plus, i'm enough of a dick that i'd file an action just to waste someone's time for doing this.

the only persons time you'd waste is the court clerks who would review it and throw it out, and you'd be out the $500-1000 it cost you to file it (and the clerk would still get paid anyways, so not really wasting his/her time). The only time wasted of the sellers would be of him reading the letter saying it was thrown out.

$150 to file an action in BC, and if I really fought for it, I could have it in front of a judge in small claims, without a great amount of trouble.

regardless, sell the stupid thing and be done with it.
