  • Amazon.ca vs. Amazon.com

I remember this was discussed in a thread a while back but I can't find it.

Was thinking of ordering a couple items but seeing as I'm ordering I was looking at a couple of things that are available on Amazon.com but not .ca. Has anyone ordered from .com? I remember a while back you couldn't order if you were from Canada and they directed you to the canadian site (which as about 15% of the items the US one does.

Just wondering if anyone has ordered and if you got charged a lot for shipping.

Just depends what you are buying on .com some things are not shippable to Canada, but most things like DVDs and books are no problem. Make sure you fully price out though as there is a shipping charge and also an estimated tax charge some times. I am currently waiting on an order from .com (seems to be taking a long long time) but my first text book was way cheaper on .com than anywhere in Canada, and had to add a movie or two in there as well

If you are buy school "textbooks" you should be using ABEBooks.com search by ISBN number. I got some of my engineering textbooks for $5 + $12 shipping from China.

Any issues with those books? I found some similar versions of the one I bought on ebay but heard they were not exactly the same, so called "international versions."
