That's brutal man, glad you're alright thus far.

At least you were able to walk away.

HA! I could only wish candy was as easily obtainable. Last time I checked, Halloween is only 1 day a year. Licenses are handed out every day!!!

OP, glad your ok. Your car was always an inspiration back when I had my MK3. Its too bad she's gone:(

          Re: Sad Day

Thanks for the kind words you guys. You're the type of people, on this forum, that make me wanna get another euro. And remain on this forum for you're help and advice as well as help the others that I am able to lend a hand too. I was just on Autotrader and Kijiji in an attempt to find another GTI VR6, but no such luck. I must find one as I am missing the lovely note that spews out of that exhaust from a VR6. But am convinced that they will be hard to come by these days.

I looked up the value of my car (1998 VW GTI VR6) and it's worth $4800 with the mileage that is on it. So my budget is going to roughly be $5500.00 for a new whip. I would love to get into a 24V VR6 in the MK4's but there still out of my reach as far as budgets go. I'd even settle for a 12V vr6 MK4 if I could find one.*sigh*...this is so depressing.

If any of you fine gentlemen have a lead on a VR'd VW, please let me know. I was looking at a MKIV 1.8T jetta with 211,000 for 4800.00, but I would honestly rather be in a VR. The sound of WOT is so addicting. But the 1.8T's potiential is unsurpassed as far as modding to get some extra hp's. I have 30 days to decide, so I'll just take my time and try and hold out for a VR. Anyway....here are some more better pics of the damage. Enjoy...

                          Re: Sad Day

So 8 days later now and sad day got totally flipped around to happy day. Got a call from the appraiser this afternoon and they said that the car is a total loss. No surprise there. She then said that they have got a figure for me that a third party came up with after evaluating the market and with the current market value. The insurance company is giving me a generous amount of coin. A lot more then I was willing to fight for, thinking that there were going to low ball me. They are also paying me for time missed from work which was 3.5 days along with pain and suffering. Going to pay off some debts and will still have enough for another vehicle. Which I may have found at a decent price too. Just waiting to go and see it. Maybe its true what "they" say..."things happen for a reason". Thank you Karma...

Well Mike at least some good came of this... Those hideous chrome air vents you put in that we all made fun of you for, will meet thier demise in the crusher.

On this next car please promise us you will stay away from Canadian Tire and Ebay when doing your modifications.

                              Thanks buddy,

sucks to hear, glad it got sorted.

you didn't settle on the medical side right, just the car?

medical stuff can be a LOT bigger deal down the road, and likely symptoms wont appear for a while
