sweet. I was thinking though, not that I think this would be one of those sites, but, i did notice they have one of those IP tracking things and was wondering; This would be a great way for car thieves to clone VINs. In the US vin cloning is a huge problem (one clone ring totaled over 25 million). Offering a free vin checking site would be a great way to facilitate this-> match your vin with your address/location using your IP, and subsequently be able to easily fake registration documents for a stolen vehicle which closely matches yours. this could be easily done using an algorithm to extract vehicle color, trim level etc and matching this to cars in their "stock" and even extract your name/address etc using your IP as a starting point.

Also in the same respect it could be a great way to create a database of vehicles with their locations for thieves to "shop" on.


this is just for interests sake I am definitely not saying this site is bad, I was just thinking about it the other night lol.

I've never thought of looking up VINs of vehicle I own, so theives keep a database on them.
