I dont even think im going to bother, I mean its not the show its the hosts for sure that make it what it is.
I dont think they can top Jim, Dick and Jeza haha.
"If it has tits or wheels it will give you trouble"
Tanner Foust on the SRT10 "Every time I turn the wheel its feels like this car is determined to kill me like a mean... mean horse that doesn't like people sitting on it's back"
the show is def not the REAL Top Gear but the challenges and the cars they reviewed were at least fun enuf for me to watch for an hour...however, the hosts...i bet out of all the people on this forum, let alone the rest of N. America, they could've found entirely better ones! like omfg, who in the hell are the other two people besides foust?!! seriously! sooo bad...the track itself is pretty ghetto lookin too but alas, the show only exists to keep us entertained until the REAL Top Gear comes back on.

i watched the intro and first 10 mins last night.. they copied the entire everything about the UK version.. but doesn't look too bad.. can't compete with the UK humor and wit but its worth watching for now
Okay, so I watched the whole episode...and let me just put it out there, I wasn't looking to like it at all. It wasn't outstanding, but it wasn't bad. I feel that they could get a really good chemistry with these guys although it's not there yet. I do miss the accents and the quirky british humour.
I'll give it a while to see if I can get more in to it. It does feel kind of like a parallel universe though.

Yeah, I watched the Viper segment. Wasn't satisfied shut it off. It just seemed too copy cat, for me. I am sick of all these Top Gear X's. Enough with it, pick your own name, get original. If I want to watch Top Gear, I will watch Top Gear. If I want to watch a bunch of American Twats, I can watch some porn.
This TG USA, is an exact copy, except they are all trying to be Jezza. Clarkson has an actual ability to use simile, to use hyperbole, with wit and cleverness.
The entire TG USA team tries to copy that, and it is just something you can't copy.
They use the exact same film stock, with the same filters, the same wide 'epic' shots. Boring and repetitive.
Tanner Foust is the only legitimate person on that show in my opinion. I mean, at least he has hosted an automotive show before, and is a professional driver (albeit Formula Drift). The other two are just really fucking stoked to drive fast cars, and act like they are 12 doing it.
I think what I like about the UK team, is their laid back attitude, they don't really care if they are driving a 599 or a fiat 500. Also keep in mind none of the 'slanderous' remarks will make this series. As they have to please advertisers, and you don't do that by bashing their product.
i watched it today.. it was toooo bad.. some funny stuff.. need to watch more episodes to see if the guys are actually cool and better chemistry..
the cars were OK.. track is ok.. USA stig
one funny thing is the show is 100% exact copy of the OG Uk top gear.. i guess thats how it should be though.. we'll see how well the show does and then we'll see if it gets cancelled or not.. anyways i'll keep watching because i love cars
Well very hard to compare chemistry of a 1st episode versus hundreds of episodes, but it is not horrible, but could use some work of course. I think Tanner is the best of the 3 and he can drive a car as well, but I think it can work. My other criticism is the pacing/timing, the show seems too short to fit most of the items in (with only 42 mins running time) as the Star interview was barely that as they barreled through.
And yes the test track seems very ghetto, but I will keep watching to see where it goes!
Blair Former Cars: '12 Fiat 500, '10 VW GTI, '05 Smart Fortwo, '96 VW Jetta GLX, '02 VW GTI 337.........
one thing i liked is how they show the track on a map onscreen tho.. the UK one needs that i think.. is the track layout an exact clone setup of the UK one too?
and vipers are stupid but i think i'd love to drive one like they did
plus when he did the rolling 360 with it.. that was impressive
