when you have two corporate unlimited plans on your account both running well over $500/mth each....companies should give a ****.

they might make pennies on other accounts, but when you're using a phone as much as the other two are being used, they're making decent coin a month off of both of them. My phone when it was active was usually like $400+/mth and they can see that.

still not a huge amount, when you take into account that 5 personal accounts on those old awful iphone data package contracts equal the same per month. i'm just saying that really, in the long run, they owe you no loyalty because there are plenty of other people that will use their service, even if you switch to another service.

i did, however, say that was a nice thing to do. it's shitty and mean. and awful. it makes me cry tears from my eyes instead of my penis. and we all know how awful that is.

Oh they give a ****, when I left telus, I spent 35 minutes on the phone as they gave me the hail mary, with all kinds of inscentives. It was nuts, but they didn't have the iPhone at that time. These companies have entire departments and call centers dedicated to keeping customers on their service. Especially if you are a long time customer. My mom has been with telus since day one, she threatens to leave every now and a again. Gets a bunch of incentives, and life goes on. They don't want to lose you. Word of mouth is brutal, especially when your story starts with 'I was a 15 year customer, and they fucked me' they don't want that floating about.

Just curious in general, what is the attraction to Rogers? (Unless you're a masochist, then I kind of understand).

With Bell and Telus having them iPhones now and HSPA being deployed everywhere (including a full upgrade in SK for those that have to visit that place) what do they have that the other providers dont?

I briefly had a rogers phone (6 months) and I had no problems leaving. Several times in that 6 months I was out of a coverage area and dropped calls. Switched back to Bell and only had a problem with NW Ontario where they haven't deployed HSPA yet. I did have a SIM card issue but I brought it in to a store and they swapped it out free of charge as it was a defective batch on the first few batches of SIM's

Also, as horrible as Bell service was, it was still a vast improvement over my experience with Rogers.

Rogers sold me my iPhone over the phone as well as my girlfriends... and I'm not even a corporate hot shot. Sounds like someones not asking nicely.

the draw to rogers is nothing but the deal i get because of the plan i've been on forever and the fact ive been with them. i am more than willing to switch, which is why my threat to move isn't an idle one

update:

called today, told the guy i was looking to leave and was tired of the run around (there was already notes on my file from previous calls). he put me through to customer loyalty group. within under 5 minutes i had been approved for a 32GB phone, with 3 free months, couriered out to me arriving friday.
and this is why im staying with rogers.

When I got my latest iPhone they were so busy that the Rogers servers kept crashing so I could not get it activated or get the switch price. I bought the phone outright (unlocked), then called Rogers later, told them unless they rebated me the difference between the subsidized cost and the full unlocked cost I'd bail. A few hold+transfers later I got someone to agree. So now I have an unlocked phone at the subsidized rate.
