that is good to know, my VR only gets about 450 city, so there is still a huge difference. I do remember a day though when diesel came in at a whopping 36 cents/litre. Weren't those the days!!
Nope! If you've ever been in a chipped PD and hit it in second gear...you'll know what I mean. I have a bud with a 2009 WRX, and he can't believe the torque I have in 2nd...no keyboard warrior here...passed 2nd gear, he takes off...I only keep up...and thats at hwy speeds.

Chip alone won't bugger up mileage. You can actually gain mileage (at least for hwy driving). The big injectors did make a difference though, and i went through more fuel. I wouldn't hesitate to get a chip. I'll do it again once my Passat is out of warranty.

To reinforce, if you don't use the torque...the MPG goes up. I get an extra 200k per tank on a road trip. Well worth it!

Nice! chip must add a hell of a lot of power, I get absolutely blown away by WRXs in my 24VR, you must be running low 14s in the 1/4? i think the 2.5L turbo WRX runs a 14.1

edit: correction the 09 WRX (5 door) runs a 13.5 in the 1/4 (14.1 was for the 07 model)

            LOL @ low 14's in the 1/4.

TDi's putting down those kinds of numbers a) smoke like a cuban and b) get nowhere near the 1000km range they used to.
They've got torque, nut they run out of breath pretty darn quick

              a) any car chipped and modded is crap for emissions.
              b) any modded car doesn't get what it used to for mileage if you push it.

what's your point? you've just reiterated what everyone here already knows.
