Looking for some suggestions on where to stay in Banff or area (anywhere in the mountains really). Looking to get out of the city for a weekend and want a nice place to relax.

Re: Banff area hotel
The red carpet inn is nice there if you go for their most expensive rooms, the king room w/jacuzzi is huge and fairly nice, the honeymoon suit is great too you could run around in it and it has a fireplace, jacuzzi by the bed with the TV up on the wall so you can watch it from the tub and a detached shower, also a great view of the mountains, it is super nice for the money!, the main strip is a quick walk but you are far enough that you don't get the noise of the belligerent folk at night. Only complaint with this hotel is the underground parking is a tight squeeze to get into stalls and it is a little dated, but still great value for the money, (oh and the honeymoon sweet doesn't have opening windows so it can get kinda hot with the jacuzzi running)
The fox is also really nice, but a little more on the expensive side, rooms are very well furnished and have LCD TVs mounted on the wall, they have a main hot pool in the center of the hotel that is grotto style its awesome! Only complaint is that the room was a little to hot for my liking even with the temp turned down and window opened in the middle of winter.
Those are the only two i've stayed at though, driftwood i've heard is a dump so avoid that.Last edited by J-hop; 10-19-2010, 07:58 PM.

Rimrock is pretty nice.
Fairmont Banff Springs is REALLY nice if your willing to drop the coin.
Chateau Lake louise is nice, but a little dated, last i was there.

Re: Banff area hotel
Just got back from Sunday & Monday nights at the Banff Conference Center.
Decent Rooms with Kingsize Beds. Free Wi-Fi. Parking is outdoor, and not really that close to the suites. Mediocre room service. Breath-taking views from our room.
I just got home. I'm pewped. lolzCam

banff Caribou lodge was also really nice, just down from the fox. Great rooms, flat panel TVs, comfy rooms and a keg with the most amazing breakfasts too. They have a brunch on Saturday / Sundays as well. I have stayed there for the last 2 thanksgiving weekends and loved it each time.2011 Jetta TDI

Re: Banff area hotel
Stayed in both the rimrock and the rundlestone lodge.
Rimrock is nice because its at the top of the mountain
Rundlestone is nice because for the same cost you can get a wicket suite with a jacuzzi.

Re: Banff area hotel
rimrock is great if you don't mind tipping everyone and pretending you're a hot shot. but chances are, your bank account is finite, like the rest of ours. so unless u get off playing hot shot to a bunch of australian kids, don't waste your time.
get a cheap hotel in town. spend your evening drinking at a pub. stagger home. bang your wife/gf in the shower. knock over sh!t. throw her panties on the tv. call it a night.
have fun

Re: Banff area hotel
yea I generally don't like to stretch my bank account for somewhere im only going to be for a couple nights. Don't know where some people come up with that kinda cash to throw around!!! The springs and rimrock are so far from the action anyways!Last edited by J-hop; 10-19-2010, 11:37 PM.
