  • CRASH - Need a new ride

So the Subaru is probably going to be a writeoff (never know though).

I need a replacement family car for 2 kids, that can tow over 1500 lbs - doesn't have to be a wagon but it's convenient.

I really like the Golf wagon with the TDI, as well as the A4 wagon. Also looking at the pontiac g8 with the vette motor.

If I'd been driving the Jetta, my choices would have been sooo much more interesting. :P

    Any suggestions?

First off, hope everyone is ok.

    Secondly, I'm hoping for you it's 20-25G'ish?
My vote is for Passat 3.6 4mo. or B6 S4 Avant.

I had just got it back a few weeks ago! 8K in hail repair and it was perfect! I couldn't see a single ding and they did it all with PDR.

I was only person in car so I'm just stiff ATM - we'll see how it is tomorrow.

Car isn't worth more than 22K so I'm hoping it's a loss. If they say it's 14K to fix I'll probably get it fixed though.

Still looking if I can find the tow rating for the Golf wagon TDI. I think it's 2000, but not sure.

Glad to hear you are ok, be sure to get a full check up from your doctor and document all your pains and problems etc. Trust me it helps you in the long run. From my experience I wouldn't repair it, it is a pain in the ass and never looks the same again.

New 2010 hyundai Tuscon driven by a 16 year old girl. She was more scared of her daddy showing up I think.

                  Obviously she was at fault?

Khyron, if I recall correctly my jetta TDI can tow more than 1500 lbs, but it is a 2010. I'll check my manual if I remember tonight.

That would be great - I've heard it's 2000/200 and then others say with the auto/dsg it's reduced to 1000 lbs.

She was waiting at a stop sign and she pulled out right in front of me. No chance. Just got back from buying a new car seat - pain in the butt.
