    Re: What car is this?

you can hate hyundai but make sure you're doing it for the right reasons. people still have the stereotypical views of hyundai that were from the 1990's...the company has come a LONG way.
the genesis sedan is a legit contender in the full size sedan market. And if you look at $/what you get, you get a HELL of a lot. Obviously people buying in those classes are also looking at the status symbol of the 4 rings or the cock BMW logo on the front, but the geneis is a good car and wicked value.

One of my friends sold his B5 Passat and bought a brand new Genesis last year, hasn't looked back. It's a pretty sick car actually.

I agree, they have and I'll give them respect for that.

I'm just not very attracted to their body styling that's all, If we were to compare $$$ you are absolutely right.

The fact that I have an opinion "i talk out of my ass"?

Yes I have driven a Genesis and I simply didn't fall in love with it nor do I like the body styling.

looking at its specs and pricing i think the 2.0T is a good price and makes it competative for the 200bhp market but once you upgrade to the 300hp V6 then i think the pricing falls right in place with the competition early to mid $40's withthe likes of subaru only a bit more expensive for the additional 4wd.

loved the styling of it in the car park though (yes it was shawney CdnTire) but the badge withthe flags on it threw me off completely guessing it was a Hyundai.

V8 Genesys sedan's been around for years and is decently respected if not a bit too soft to go against 5 series. 428 HP isn't a bad deal though.

The new 275HP turbo 2.0 is the motor the new Kia Optima is getting that I was raving about. It looks and specs exactly what the Jetta should have been. Still have to drive it though as it could be a torque steering monster. Heated and AC seats front, heated rear seats, sync-like connectivity, etc etc. 24/33 mpgs as well.

                    Re: What car is this?

I test drove one when I was looking for cars back in June. I actually enjoyed the drive and the whole car more then my Golf, but I didnt want 4 door and the 2 door only comes in RWD, which is retarded in our climate.

the genesis definitely impressed me, and the new sonota one upped it great comfort coupe styling.

The Genesis is a great car, the one we have is a 2L turbo and makes 230hp and 91 oct, 210 on reg gas. It came with a brembo bbk factory, 19s, a 3.92 ratio LSD, infinity 10 speaker stereo, Bluetooth and everything else one would want. The only thing it doesn't have is nav. The motor is the same as the turbo in the mitsubishi ralliart. For the money it is an awesome. There are much better cars out there but feature for feature and value for money few can come close in the midsize coupe range.

                              Re: What car is this?

I was going to get one back in July, but couldn't afford the monthly payment at the time. I was lined up and stoked to get the 2.0T with the "Trac Pac". The only thing I could complain about was the extreme "Rev hang" it had when shifting to a higher gear. There was also some tranny bushing issues that caused it to grind in certain gears. But there was a re-flash program to eliminate the rev hang and Hyundai were replacing 6-speed Transmissions as part ofa Technical Bullentin if the car you purchased was grinding gears.
It felt a little slower then I was expecting too. Stock HP is 210 but felt more like 170hp. I'm sure there will be lots of tuning available for these diamonds in the rough. I think I heard of one pushing close to 450hp with medium difficulty upgrades.
A lot of the Hyundai models in the past seem to mimic other brands and models, but what I like about the looks of this one is that they copied no else's design cues. And its completely different from any other vehicels on the road. I never thought I would be so close to buying a Hyundai, but they have come so far in the past 5 years. I can't wait to see the 2011 models with mildly different styling cues and more power. Should be interesting.

I like the Genesis, but I'd like to see who says the handling is at the top of its class. Maybe you can post a link?

From what I've read, performance is competitive in it's class and inexpensive in it's class, but not top of it's class.
