  • XC riding in k-country

Anyone interested in riding Prarie-view and Jewel pass on Sunday? I finally got the last pieces for my cross country bike and want to get out at least once before the snow hits. In case anyone is wondering, it would require moderate fitness and skill as the downhill section is pretty rooty and there is a bit of climbing to get to the top. I'm totally ok with going slow on the climbs

Anyone interested in setting up a ride on Oct 9 or 11th? (long weekend). I can get out on Saturday and probably again on Sunday or Monday. I'm open to what we ride as well, but was thinking maybe Powderface ridge, or Mt. Baldy. I'd do prairie-view/Jewel again as well, it was in awesome shape last weekend.

OK so my wife is getting anxious to find out what days I'm riding. Personally I'd prefer to get out Saturday and Monday so I have a day to rest in between (I'm getting old).

I'll propose doing Mt. Baldy on Saturday and Powderface Ridge on Monday. I would like to leave the city by 7 or 7:30AM so we have an easy time finding a spot in the parking lots and we can be back in the city around lunch time. If these locations and times work for anyone, just respond to this thread and we can PM details on car pooling etc.

I don't think the parking lots are too full this time of year. I'll do a Saturday morning, I've never done Baldy pass. I would be up for that.

I was at prairie by 8:00 and was done the ride around 11. The lot was full and cars were parked along the road all the way out to the highway and on the shoulder for close to 100m. I figure better safe than sorry

Bump. Looking to put together a ride again for next weekend. I was thinking maybe pneuma up and Race of Spades down on Moose Mountain, or open to other suggestions. Reply here if there is any interest and we can PM middle of next week to sort out details.
