  • Garage Floor Coating Suggestions

Recently took possession of a brand new home and I would like to get the concrete floor in the garage coated for protection. I also like the fact that it looks better when coated.

Any suggestions in regards to good products that won't peel, crack or lift over time?

Any products I should steer clear from?

If your concrete is new I have heard that you are best to let it cure for the first year before applying any coatings to it. I bought one of those epoxy kits from Crappy Tire...they go on sale for $69 all the time and 2 kits will easily do a double car garage.

how is the finish with that kit does it give a "showroom shine" . on my parents I just used some sort of etching primer and then coated in an epoxy paint from rona or something like that, it is easy to apply and relatively durable (there are some spots chipping away after a few winters).

I am interested to see what you go with in the end OP and how it turns out.

I used and acrylic sealer. It is intended to go on shortly after the concrete has set. Does not effect appearance very much, but makes for easy cleanup. Probably not what you are after, but it works well.
