    Re: Anyone fight a ticket?

a few years ago, you could fight a traffic ticket and they would usually drop the demerits. now, they never drop the demerits (at least in the last like 3 yrs) but sometimes drop the fine.

there are guys like fight that ticket, pointts etc... but you pay pretty much what the ticket was worth for them to get it thrown out generally. i do know that Dennis at fight that ticket is really good for representation....

I plead to a lesser charge once, worked out. No demerits.

Im gonna fight a ticket I got last night... normally Im fine with tickets as I typically do things to deserve them.. but this was a borderline call. Anyways........

Sign the ticket not guilty, mail it in...they will send you another court date...go to court, and talk to the prosecutor and you will, at the very least, get no points...and a lower fine...this is usually what I have done, with success. I have on occasion taken my chances with the judge.

I tried doing the same thing but they would only knock it down to 2 demerits and lower the fine. Supposedly they don't just drop the demerits like they used to; at least that's what I've been told.

Do not do this... just go in, wait in line and talk to the Justice of the Peace. They will usually reduce demerits or fine.. or both. The other way you go and actually set up a court date.

out of curiousity what do you guys argue when you talk to them? I would guess the "wasn't me" line and the "legitimate reason to speed: arguements don't work haha. Do you just plead with them for a lower penalty until they get sick of it or something haha???
