      thanks guys

      looked at tthe paypal gift option and thats handy, no charge and the exchange rate is good with only +0.04% differnece so i think i will go with that option depending on if shes ok with it.

      money trasnfers came in at around $15 i think lst time and that was for both of us so pretty expensive

      Thomas cook cheque is a nice idea but i bet there is a handling charge on that as well.

      my x used to get cash sent over from teh uk all the time by her folks, always amazed me it never went missing, not once, but they usualy disguised it in a birthday card or something. cunning lol
