ipod docks

Has anyone had any experience with any really good ipod docking stations?

Im looking at purchasing one for our kitchen/great room so it will need to put out great sound as the space is quite large.

Ive been looking at the Bose SoundDock Portable

Any other suggestions?

The Bose SoundDock is amazing!!! Great sound and its loud.Parents have it at their Lake spot.
Personally, If you have a home stereo system, purchase the Ipod cable and run it through that. Works great.Thats the set up I'm running at home myself. Much cheaper then buying a docking station. Just my opinion though.

i have the 1st gen bose sounddock.. its awesome! super super load.. put it in the living room and open a window and comes outside no issues..

only issue we have with the 1st gen is it doesn't like newer touches or iphones due to older firewire charging vs usb charging on the new models

you can buy a new dock bottom piece from bose for like 50 bucks to fix this though

new soundocks not a problem.. well worth the 400 bucks.. and the remote is nice too

bose dock is crap!
i bought the "Apple Hi-Fi iPod Boombox", its pretty decent size. similar to a 12 pack but a tad longer.
but the sound is louder/better than bose.
i paid like 400$ for it.
you will NOT be dissapointed

I also have the Apple HiFi, although I am not sure if you can get it anymore, but have enjoyed it a lot over the last few years.

I might be selling mine soon though.

Heard the Kicker Ipod dock in the stores. Sounded alright too but I dont think its the nicest looking one out there

I actually just went to Visions to check out the Kicker unit. The sound output is pretty crazy. 5' speakers, tweaters and a sub, for $330....not bad

Off to the Bose store tonight...

B&W Zeppelin and Zeppelin Mini are my favorites. The Zeppelin sounds very good about $600.
