  • Car stereo guru?

    Hey guys!
    My s4, has two Amps.
The one for my sub keeps blowing fuses out of no where.
I'm not really that good with stereo stuff, does anyone have a lot of knowledge on this type of stuff?

Try turning down the gain on that amp and see if it keep blowing. Is the amp really hot when it blows? Which amp? Some amps don't have thermal protection so they just blow the fuse instead.

ill try that tomorrow and see.
i blew them when i turned on the car today, then out new fuses in, turned it on at low volume and instantly blew again. but i will trying turning it down with new fuses.
im also going to disconnect the sub to kill off one variable.

amp woulda been cold this morning, and its a nachamichi?

Sounds like the sub voice coil is shorted out or the amp is toast. More then likely it is the sub.

ok so i turned the gained to low, and blew fuses again.
the wires from the amp to sub, cant be taken out because i dont have the right tools to loosen the clamps holding them in.
i thought it was a hex key, but i was wrong.

check wiring, if the fuse is up front in the engine bay, there may be a short somewhere (wire may have rubbed through), if the fuse is at the AMP, then the amp is probably damaged.
                              put.......put.......

                              .... ... .. .
