Slow Internet

I've been experiencing a dodgy internet connection for the past three weeks! It's as slow as thick molasses.

Apparently, there's a vulnerability with Windows XP that makes it easy for this virus called "nachi" to eff things up. It basically steals all your bandwidth, so while your connection is at 100%, you get like 80% packet loss.

I've scanned for the virus, and completed all of the Window updates, but my connection is still more retarded than Corky Thatcher.

I've also checked with Telus, and they inform me that our connection is fine, so I'm at a loss.

Can anyone shed some light on possible solutions?

yes chris thats true.. stay current with your Norton and windows updates and if you don't have a virus scanner for gods sake go pay the 40 bucks for an OEM norton copy or ask me for a cough cough copy cough..

speaking of telus Chris get this.. those dumb bastards if you have a virus that floods your traffic like that will Cap your DSL connection and turn it basically into a 56k.. well you then think you have a line problem and phone them they say no and their frakin level 1 tech support monkeys dont' know the line is capped!!! so nothing ever gets done.. i had to phone telus support for a VP at works home connection and beotch the hell out of them.. end rant
