Damn Nice Exhaust Sound

Been wading through various exhaust vids for VW's. Of course I'm looking for MK6 fitment, but I came across this 1.8T video, and damn! Makes me smile

Looks like GHL is some pretty loud exhaust, but it sure sounds nice. Thoughts?

i love the sound of that one for sure but i do agree that the highway drone could be pretty annoying. not too sure about the newer vw's with full exhausts but my old mk2 jetta had a deffening drone on the highway. so loud music could not even be listened to even at high volume lol

Ya, I'm very happy with the no drone I have in my MK6 now, after my previous MKIV was super noisy. Want a bit more edge from the exhaust note, but I don't want to kill my ears or anyone elses for that matter

sounds nice, I dont know my mk2 drones pretty loud but, My mk4 had a 3" turboback with a cat delete through an APR muffler...It was loud with the windows down but as soon as you rolled them up you could barely here it. The newer VW's MK4 and up have pretty good sound deadening IMO.

ya im assuming the mk6 is well insulated from outside noise. or at least more so than a mk4 lol. what did u have for exhaust on your mk4? i have a 1.8t that im looking to upgrade the exhaust on. don't want to go deaf on the high way lol

GHL quality is questionable and a little too loud for my taste.

If you want a nice deep sound that isn't obnoxious and has no highway drone, Millitek is the way to go.

That exhaust sounds almost like a muffler delete.
Would be annoying after a while.

Honestly I don't understand a lot of aftermarket exhausts for vws (and others of course), I think if you can close your eyes and not be able to tell the difference between the "performance" exhaust and a really bad exhaust leak than something is wrong hahah

ya it does sound like it could be a muffler delete for sure.. i have the same thing done on my mk4 sounds pretty good it but mine definatly could sound a little better, seeing how the stock exhaust pipe is rusting and the resonator is getting holes lol.. and ya i agree a little it does sound like a tractor.. a tractor with balls!! lol haha

Its really hard to capture an exhaust note on video/audio. I recorded a quick clip of the exhaust on my old 16V mk2, it sounded sweet in person but once I played back the clip it sounded like a raspy tractor haha.

yea true, but it does however sound like a lot of the vids of magnaflows with resonator deletes, which sound like garbage in person as well.
