i'll admit, this photo SUCKS....but its a start.

been dicking around with a new toy, went out testing tonite to see how it would work but its still too bright out.

i almost need a parking garage to practice so the lighting is controlled. oh well.
its all about trying new things.

yeah it was a rush edit.

you cant save crappy photos....and this was no exception.

even stopped down to f25 and the EV cranked to -5 and then further -3 in post it still is too bright.

Nice! where'd you get a rig in town?
You need an ND filter, get a 10 stop.

Totally awesome. I'll have to steal one of my uncles cars again.

its def a two person job to shoot with these.

i did that alone by pushing the car on flat ground, but the problem always is you cant push a car too fast or you cant stop it.

having an additional body helps so that one can push, one can steady the camera and remote trigger it.

once i get a wire to stabalize the shots should be a lot sharper as well

                  Re: New Photo toy

get a remote for the camera. also shooting on an overcast day, is possibly the hardest thing to do. a lot of the shows i work on shoot locally in vancouver, and it's overcast for a good portion of the fall/winter/spring. blows everything out because most DP's have no idea what a neutral density filter is.

What type of rig did you setup? A rig shouldn't move an inch.

                      Re: New Photo toy

is there a "steadycam" rig on there?

I hate them for what I do, because it makes camera tracking (the idea of creating a "digital" version of the camera so I can move it in 3d) difficult because it smooths the up down jitters. But for shooting stills it's a beautiful thing if you're on the move.

anyone know any good flat parking garages? shooting outside just has too many variables to deal with right now.

it needs to be empty and freeee

                              There's a parking lot here @ Chestermere.
Also, the roads are pretty empty for the most part.
