With what has happened over the last little while on the boards I thought it was time for me to address the issues that seem to be occurring more often on the forums.
Firstly, Ryan and I have always tried to moderate the forums with light fingers and let most things go as we are a fairly small group and do have a fair bit of personal interaction outside of the forums which makes it easier to tell when people are joking. However personal attacks are not tolerated and never will be on these forums. Discussions and debates can get heated at points but you should still treat the other parties involved with respect and not drag a constructive discussion into a mudslinging, name calling contest.
The point of these forums is to help share knowledge and build a local community of European car enthusiasts, and I think for the most part we do a good job in accomplishing that. I do like that we are often light hearted and can make a lot of jokes with each other but when it stops being fun then we begin to have problems.
These comments are not directed at any specific people but all of us, as this forum is only as good as it's members/posters, so please try and keep things on topic. Always remember if you do not agree with what someone has posted you can respectfully disagree or you can just leave it alone and go on with your life. We are not going to solve world hunger or cure cancer here but we can help get a car running better or maybe improve its appearance, and maybe have a few laughs in the process and to me that is what Eurodrivers is all about, and I hope to keep it that way!
Thanks!
Blair
