Plants/Flowers... When?

I'm getting real anxious! The weather forcast is looking uber nice. do you think it's to early to start planting flowers and plants?

I'm super excited!!! Maybe i'll go to that plant store down by anderson and get some stuff right now. At least something for the pond.

Am I crazy for planting this early?

so i went to the garden gate, it's down in shawnessy by canyon meadows. the staff said don't plant yet cause they'll die. i did anyway only in the pond. i did a bunch of various plants in there.

Lol sorry dj I had to. But in all seriousness, I would say hold off at least until the end of may. The weather isn't consistently warm enough to let flowers grow properly and unless its snow, we really haven't had much for rain to help the situation. Wait until all the snow and cold is finally done. You don't wanna have to do this twice

The weather isn't consistently warm enough to let flowers grow properly and unless its snow, we really haven't had much for rain to help the situation. i only put plants in the pond so far. i think ur right about planting in the soil. i feel that the water in the pond wams up enough to keep the plants okay.

they're in. so we'll see how they last

If you're worried about bad selection, go get them now. Then keep them inside until may long weekend if you want to play it safe. Anything in the garden that's under the soil (seed not plant) should be ok now but keep the plants indoors for at least another week or so.

well if you know its going to snow/freeze jsut put shitty old towels over them

my shrubs that i planed last year are springing up nice like tho! grass is doing OK but i will water it this weekend for sure

when do you guys start watering your lawn? i have my sprinklers on a timer and haven't turned them on yet. i was thinking we had enough snow/rain and maybe i can turn them on end of may?

how long do you guys run your sprinkler for? how often?

I'd like to know this too as we are trying to revive our grass. Just power raked and waiting for Green drop to Aerrate it so we can start watering religiously!

From what I have been told, early spring is the most important time to water your grass. At this time, the grass starts to grow and needs watering the most. Whether this is correct, Im not sure.

well i was lazy this year and didn't rake.. what i did was put the bag on my mower lowered it down a bit more than normal and cut the entire yard when it was dry this acheive i'd say 90% the same effect as it cut and removed all the crap grass..

i used CIL golf green fertilizer this spring too.. just the small bag did my entire yard and then some using a handheld spreader

as for watering.. just depends on how dry it is.. i don't have any fancy sprinklers so run the hose out and put on the sprinkler of choice but i ususally let it run for oh 30 minutes twice a week

that just depends on how dry it is or how the grass looks over all
