For the record, most of use would take a bat to HID's in stock housings. Not saying anyone has but that is the level of hatred.
Do the right thing and take them out until you can afford to do it the right way.

I saw a jetta the other day with HID in halogen housings. I saw the car from nearly a km away on memorial. By the time he passed going the other direction I have a huge red dot burned in my retina and every time I blinked the car in front of me was invisible for a tenth of a second.

how much did you spend on your hids? because you can get a full bi-xenon retrofit kit shipped to your door for around $400 cad from RFS

but yea i don't know how bad it is on the golfs but with the jetta even if you aim them as far down as they go they still have insane glare, you could even see the bad scatter in your vid so it is probably 10x worse in person

ok serriosuly guys im not trying to piss any one off. sorry if i am... even though you havent seen them in person but what ever every one is entitled to their forum opinions, it is the internet. but yea i got them for cost at work so bout $120. i did want to get the xenon kit and projector housings but you gadda work with what you got. and i don't have much.

I'm only 23 and the money i make goes to my rent, rediculious insurance and car payments. the rest is for gas, food, hookers and blow. if im lucky i have $20 to spend on my car lol. i'm not some dumb punk kid... well not a punk kid any way.

Just a suggestion, but maybe get some silverstars or nighthawks, and keep the HID's out until you can afford the projector housings... That's what I ended up doing since I couldn't afford both at the time I got my HID's.

We are not trying to rag on you man, just trying to make sure you not another one of those douche bags running HIDS in stock housings going around blinding people. Now that you are informed of the fact we are all sure you will make the right choice and look forward to when you can cut into your hooker and blow funds to do it right
