a garage is way different than a public roadway though, I honestly wouldn't waste your time over $70, not to mention trying to get back at someone for being an upstanding citizen is so damn counter intuitive, the OP mentions principles, it would be different if they were trying to get you for doing something that wasn't illegal, but that isn't the case, so if we are to talk principles, then people have to be accountable for their actions whether a cop came and charged you or your neighbor called it in. Just because people think a law is stupid, doesn't mean they don't have to follow it, so if you break the law then logically you have to pay the consequences, and no ignorance to a law is not a legitimate legal argument.

I think thats the dumbest load of sh!t i've heard in a long time!!! I would definitely want to find out which neighbor this is. I understand laws are laws, but come on now. Thats like calling the cops at 11:01 PM because your neighbor has his music playing at a very low level that you can "kind of" hear. People just love to b!tch and complain for the sake of needing something to do!

i'd pay $7,000 to find out who it was and make their life miserable because it's the principal of the issue. what you don't understand is my neighboors all think i'm a drug dealer anyway. because i don't work, have money and still sit at home everyday washing my multiple cars.

you've come to the conclusion that i was building a motor on the city street? we should have a conversation about your imagination because it sounds like a trippy and f'd up place. if anything, i might have changed my headlight bulb a few months ago.

i have access to a hoist, a dyno, a fully stocked automotive performance facility (not a shitty dirty garage). what the heck do i need to be working on my street for???

i've paid and accepted the consequence of every ticket i've ever been issued. i wouldn't have made this thread a concern if it wasn't valid.

thanx for everyones positive responses. i'm going to call 311 and see what i can do to find out what neighboor thinks they are a sneaky re-tard.

i'm so angry at my f'n neighboors that since i have nothing else to do with my time... i'm going to start watching them and calling the parking authority every chance i get when i see something wrong.

I guess common sense and common decency is lost on way too many people these days. I would fight such a stupid ticket tooth and nail.

that reminds me of a little annoyance i experienced the other night. i was driving home from my bro's from mckenzie town and stopped at the gas station there. as i was pulling in, this older VW came flying up and started tail gating me. but, it had NO headlights!

so i slowed down to go over the curb lipped enterrance into the parking lot. and this no-headlight VW was a foot away from my rear bumper the whole parking lot drive.

so i park. get out. and i wait for the driver of the VW to get out. i say "first, i was driving slow because that's my decision and second, you have absolutely no headlights"

the girl (around 28 and not bad looking) responds "i know i have no headlights, i was just pulled over by the cops and i almost got a ticket"

i couldn't f'n beleive that!!! i get a f'n ticket for having tinted windows, and she doesn't get a ticket for having NO headlights???? my tinted windows aren't going to cause me to run over a child!!

i can't beleive she got off for driving down deerfoot and through a residential area with no headlights.

lol, honestly man, if you are to take anything away from experiences like this is that wasting your energy getting riled up about things, trying to retaliate, and getting mad because things don't go your way or people don't act towards you or others the way you think they should is going to make you lead a miserable, angry existence.

i did talk to her a bit but i couldn't get over her voice. and she had one of those "i'm near 30, single and pissed off at all the guys who screwed me over in the past" kind of attitude.
