    Re: RHD ban

I think banning them is inevitable. It`s a shame that a few idiots spoil it for the rest. Not many countries go to this extreme though:

Cambodia all cars must be LHD
India all cars must be RHD
Bangladesh all cars must be RHD
In Australia all LHD cars have to be converted to RHD if less than 30 years old.

I don`t think the quality of the cars can be used as an argument. I`ve seen plenty of LHD Canadian vehicles in very poor condition.

I should be able to choose which vehicle I drive be it LHD, RHD a SUV, Truck, Car or Motorbike without the government telling me it`s too dangerous.

If the government is thinking of my safety then they should ban motorbikes instead. According to NHTSA motorcyclists were 37 times more likely than passenger car occupants to die in a crash per vehicle mile traveled in 2007 and nine times more likely to be injured.

BAN BAN BAN BAN BAN BAN BAN BAN. And trucks lifted more than a few inches need to go as well.

Don't care if YOU die, but motorcycles generally don't kill other people. An RHD idiot pulling out to pass causing a head on at 200km/hr with a family of five in their Dodge Caravan is a bit more serious.

I also think there should be yearly safety inspections (tires, brakes and lights mostly)

I don't give a crap what you want to drive, if you drive it on your private property. Bring it on public roads and put me at risk, toe the line. And stay off my lawn!

I am really not sure how some of these get away with it, but I guess that is a whole other issue entirely!

            You are. haha.

not trying to be a dick, but EVERY one of us drove much less responsibly than we do now when we were that age. Just the way it works, and I dont think there are any exceptions.

LOL, you're not the only one. I lived in a small town, you had to find your own things to do.

                  Re: RHD ban

I am split of the subject. I don't think it has much to do with the condition of the cars or even the cars themselves and is more about the couple bad apples that have rocked the boat and ruined it for everyone. I drove around in a RHD moke in vancouver and never had much problem, took a while to get use to shifting with the other hand though. Would I want to drive one every day? hell no but I don't think banning them would be the right answer.
