Who's been to Shanghai?

I am heading there in about a month, and looking for hotel recommendations, and or must-see's etc. Anyone?

I was there quite a few years back.. spent most the time walking through the river area (Thats how long ago it was.. i dont even remember the name!)
I would stay close to that area.. we were a ways out.

A lot could have changed from when I was there, but it was the central district.. lots of shopping and sight seeing...

What kind of hotel budget are you looking at? I have not been to Shanghai but spent a fair bit of time in Asia and have tried a fair number of hotel chains, but more to the expensive side is what I tend to go with.

Found one, it's a slight bit off the beaten track, but it's a 4 star that we are getting $30/night off. (My friend works for Air Canada). Should be pretty awesome...
