has to do with the charged particles being emitted from the volcano I believe.


edit: ya google "volcano lightning" and they give a basic description on how it works

Epic photos for sure and it is very cool to be a witness to these unique events and sure I feel sorry for people trapped by the travel setbacks, but I am not sure if it would be worth risking my life to get home and there is not a lot we can do about it but wait.

Hell my poor coilovers are trapped somewhere in Europe who is going to look after them


Edit: KLM Flight 867 from 1989 is evidence of what can happen while flying through an ash cloud.

Top Gear is to blame...

Meh this ash cloud thing is getting a bit ridiculous, Germans are flying their planes as much as they can to prove there isn't an issue. The current jets being used are not as susceptible to ash as an '80's jet.

Hell news choppers and coast guard planes are flying through ash clouds.

What is more worrying is the neighboring volcano that is at risk of erupting from this constant eruption.
