Re: Dumb Effin Cops....
Happened again today!!
Bums whipping bottles at each other, smashed glass everywhere, like running start baseball pitch style with wine bottles. Dudes bleeding. Ending up in a blow for blow fight. One was drunk off of Listerine, or he maybe just had incredibly minty breath, when he talked to me.
Called 911, said a police car will be there in 15-45 mins later.
Seriously? Two fucking cops left the store after dropping one of their bikes off, literally two minutes before this started. They obviously aren't very busy when they have time to come in earlier make an appointment, go home with the cruiser, pick up the bike and drive it back down to the shop.
Exactly, I have witnessed some incredible stupidity by some backyard 'bike mechanics', I have to remain civil. FFS they are civil servants, they had better be fucking polite.
That being said, I had my absolutely first positive experience with CPS today. We were riding our bikes in Glenmore landing, having some fun. This security guard loses his **** at us and called the cops. They show up and we literally just bullshitted for 10 minutes about bikes, the weather and whether or not there was any potential in 1600. They then just asked us to not break anything and keep having fun.
Why can't all cops just be like that. Reasonable, civil, fair, and remember they were young once too.
I feel RCMP is much harder to get into than CPS.
Also on the 'if you don't know, just say so'. There is a bylaw in Calgary that you need to have a bell. Now some fun can be had asking bylaw cops what exactly that law is. Whether it has to be a bell, or I just have to make my intentions known by yelling 'on you left'. So far, I have yet to get a straight answer from any of the 50 bylaw cops, whose bikes we service.
