I think my Phatnoise shat the bed....

I've had a few problems with it lately on long trips.. it would shut down, then be fine ~10 minutes later... last week it wouldnt start up again.
Not thinking much of it, I reloaded the DMS, fixed anything I could.. and It still isnt working. Lights turn on for about 15 seconds, and then it makes a shut down noise.. and goes black. Turns back on ~15 seconds later, but wont stay on long enough to actually play anything.
Is it toast? Any other suggestions? Time to start looking for a used one??

heat and cold always used to be the problem i had with mine. If it was to warm it wouldn't work or if it was to cold it wouldn't work.

Well its not that hot or cold right now... and wont work at all! power up... power down. cant even load a song.

If I still had my iPhone instead of a BB I owuld think about it.. this is just easier then constantly carrying something in and out of the car. Its also a more permanent fixture which I like...

But a 40GB or 60GB ipod might be cheaper than a used Phatbox, installs in the same location, PC software is easier to use. Depending on the deck, it might have track text and be easier to navigate through songs. I've used both, I'm not a fan of apple and their limitations, but with all the apple products on the market, it's tough to avoid it forever.

I think the Phatnoise music manager is way easier then iTunes.. and at the moment Im quite happy to be Apple free.
There are used Phatbox's around 100 on eBay right now... and install would take me 5 minutes.
Im a big fan of the stealthyness of the Phatnoise.. you can only see it from the trunk.

Mine used to act up a bit sometimes, not turn on etc. I would disconnect the cord to the phatnoise (at the unit not the radio) and then reconnect, that usually did the trick.

Ive unplugged a few times, rebooted DMS, reloaded DMS and it does the same thing over and over.. power on.. 15 seconds.. power off... 15 seconds... power on.
