anyone do any april fools pranks today?

i did one to my favourite client. this morning at around 5 am, i put a condition in their global.asx file for every request that came into their online application.

i filtered it just on their nat ip address from their office, so only their office would be subject to it.

and it would generate a random number between 1 and 10. if the number was 4, it would redirect that session request to one of their competitor websites.

so about every 7 or so clicks would redirect them to the competitor website hahaha

i just got a call from the ceo about 30 minutes ago in a panic. says "WE GOT HACKED........." and starts telling me the symptoms.

funny thing is, u can tell when employees are making stuff up for attention, because one of them said "it happened the other day too" .. that was of course before i yelled "APRIL FOOLS"

our desks can be controlled electronically for desk height by way of a little switch on the the corner of the desks on the bench.

we swapped out the control cords for this guy that sits between me and my buddy so that we could control his desk from my desk. so i could sit there and slowly raise and lower his desk while he was working.

he didn't know what was going on for like 45min. he'd be sitting at the phone and go to stand up but couldn't cause i'd lowered the desk right down to his thigh height.

Our receptionist at work got our head HR lady in Canada to send her a 'fake' congratulatory email thanking her on all her hard work and congratulating her for being the entire companies Admin of the quarter - an accomplishment that rewards her a trip to HQ in Milkwaukee with lots of wining and dining.

So once she had this fake email, she sent it off to our branch manager, and he ended up forwarding a big congratulations via email to her and to the whole branch, his boss, etc and then a flury of "hey good job!" and "congratulations Koryn" came through from everyone who fell for it like our boss did. LOL. But then he caught on so he got someone in our other branch to phone her up and pretend to be a newspaper reporter who was just called by our boss and wanted to do a story on her, and she fell for it.

Great day. haha.

I had the gf tell me she was way late and was gonna go to the dr.... NOT COOL! LOL!!!

I went to the pub and drank … Then came back to work and reamed out a poor employee.

Wait, April fools what? Hah hah.

A couple first years left their doors unlocked last night, and went to the bar. So when it struck midnight, the shenanigans got the start. The first room we hit up, we took everything out of his room, furniture, everything, and put it in the common area/lounge and re-assembled it exactly the same, measured it out and everything. The other room, we took everything but the furniture. Matresses and everything. So there is just a desk, set of empty drawers, and a bed frame.

We then went into the girls wing and took the doors and showers curtains from the bathroom.

We also found one girls door open, so we flipped everything.

On a different floor, they caught one of the million rabbits on campus, and let it loose in their girls wing.

We then went to bar and joined the folks we had just wrecked. Itching to get them home, to see the reactions.

We didn't see the girls reaction, but the guys were pretty funny. Especially considering the one kid couldn't barely stay conscious. He was not a fan of his mattress missing.

We also wrote, 'Rookie move' on all their whiteboards.

man those are great pranks u guys did!!! i'm so glad people still keep the spirit.
