        correct its water based heat.

as for wasted space, i dont know how many of you have been condo shopping in the last 5 years but this place is a dream compared to others. the only bit of space that will be odd to use, but i still know what im going to do with it, is the area between the living room and the office.

ive seen places with structural cement pillars in bedrooms and living rooms, triangular rooms, and all kinds of garbage that make rooms almost useless.

i like that I (i mean girlfriend) can cook and watch TV at the same time, and its not a huge issue if i want to sit at the bar that i gotta turn my head 90*. I havent had a kitchen table in 3 years, and so im in no rush to get one now either.

Last night I had an old guy i worked with come round and fix the carpet. some idiot cleaning put a bottle of bleach on the floor that leaked. stained a nice square shape onto the carpet so this guy came and patched it for me so i cant even tell where it happend.

got the coax cable run for the Shaw feed, and the speaker run with insulated speaker wire from the west wall, around the back of the fireplace to the north wall. Going to pick up some speaker stands today.

Still battling to figure out what to do with my center channel. There wont be any room on top of the mantle for it and i dont really want to screw into the slate.

so tonite i got the TV all measured up, drilled the pilot holes for the lag bolts, and began mudding.

Had to do some serious buildup around the right edge as it protruded a little bit. Hopefully once sanded it will be okay, and it will be behind the TV so no one will really see it.

I built myself a Dexter Morgan kill room to contain the dust when i start sanding tomorrow. Hope to paint in the afternoon adn mount tomorrow night. that will take care of a big chunk of work, then i can finish wiring stuff and moving everything over.

Is there room to mount the center channel above the TV? I have a sander that you can hook a shop vac up too it helps to keep the dust down.

drywall patching is done, sanding done, painting fdone.

                        mount is up

TV is hung....and in 24 hrs hasnt come down.

now i just gotta get everything else mved. will post pics of completed setup.

centre channel above TV wont work its like 9' in the air then and would suck. being on the ground would be better

Re: When modding things actually adds value....

alright so im finally back online, i hate moving computers and offices and setting them all back up again. it sucks to no end.

got the mount hung last thursday

i decided while i had the mantle off to future proof the placement of the centre channel and if i wanna run it half way up the fireplace i can so i left some cord in there for it.

                          Mount up in the room

put the vents back and lugged the TV over......bad idea

i dont know how the hell i got this up alone but i did. had to go see the back guy on the weekend though uggghh

                          tested everything out

AV rack arrived on monday so i put it together. made the gf stick on all the little rubber bumb stops for the glass

                          loaded it up

                          Voila.

Couches also arrived yesterday (monday) morning. so i now have an almost complete living room. i love those couches so much. sooooo comfy.

Is the heater going to be blowing right into the back of your rack or can you close that one off?
