Re: 2010 F1 Season
I agree.
I want fast, tight, snappy racing. I also want to see more diversity. Maybe some FI, or some big motors. But no, they all have one of three motors. I don't understand this whole 15 man pit crew. Budget concerns eh?

Re: 2010 F1 Season
i wish bernie would just die (and leave me his daughter in his will).
he has butchered the sport in recent years. every year its massive rule changes to try and get parity. if i wanted parity i'd watch nascar.
budgets shouldn't be an issue in F1. i would far rather see more testing and faster/better cars, than teams showing up at the start of the year with issues and not be able to fix them because of lack of testingTeam Highschool

Re: 2010 F1 Season
2 of the 3 new teams were outta the race by halfway. more testing would be finacially better for the new teams, at least they would have a chance of finishing the race then.Current:

Re: 2010 F1 Season
I agree with alot of the above, the cat and mouse passing since the pit windows for tires are so big sucks. There are too many cars on the grid, which in theory I don't mind, but bring me the 107% qualifying rule back. Especially since everyone starts with comparable fuel. As many cars on the grid who can qualify within 7% of pole.
I don't think more power is the answer, I think less aero and slicks would be awesome. For a while they were getting too fast imo, it was too dangerous. As much as I'm for competition, and cutting edge. This isn't NASCAR and I don't enjoy the crashes.Nick

Re: 2010 F1 Season
I think I just want more creativity. I visited the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, and I was blown away by their race cars. To me those 60-90's race cars were the hay-day of racing.
They had a Pikes Peak Car there, it had a Balsa wood hand carved shifter, trying to shave weight. They used a Ti Sphere pressurized fuel tank, removing the need for a fuel pump. It was just so cool, the creativity they used to make these cars lighter, faster, and killer.
I would allow the RPM's to be limitless, if you can build a reliable motor that can rev to 50,000, then ****. Go ahead and use it. I think the fewer limitations the better.

Re: 2010 F1 Season
I agree with the creativity aspect of the game. This aspect alone is what used to make one brand stand out above all others. The limitations make everyone seem so equal, when clearly in competition, this is never the case.Patryk

Re: 2010 F1 Season
restrictions cause engineers to get creative, and push progress.
without restrictions and changes the cars actually would all end up looking very similiar, and they wouldnt change much because physics doesn't change.
i dont mind restrictions, they push automotive engineering forward and we have a lot of things to thank for that. but it has to be **** that makes sense and still makes F1 enjoyable.Team Highschool

Re: 2010 F1 Season
I agree with the 'Sh1T that makes sense' comment. I think that is one reason NASCAR is so incredibly popular. It's because those cars are simple. Big Carb'd V8, minimal if any composites, just raw. The Average person can relate to it, they can understand and comprehend how the car works and does its magic. The crazy **** in F1 now, is just that, Crazy ****.
This is why I think a budget cap is required. Very minimal restrictions, but a budget cap at like 60mill. Would cause teams to cut **** here and there, and use creative means to make things do what they need to do without costing 100mill.
I have started watching a ESPN Classic, series called F1:The Grand Prix Collection. Goes through the history of F1 in big years. Currently watching 1975 episode. Kinda dry but some sweet old school F1 cars. It is narrated by some guy that I think is supposed to sound like Clarkson, and that irritates me, it would be better with clarkson.

Re: 2010 F1 Season
Sounds like the second race was a lot better and the points race is heating up already. They are in Malaysia at Sepang this week already too!!
I am looking at booking a trip to Singapore in the fall and thinking about catching the race but man you can get some pricey tickets $800 US for weekend pit grandstand tickets, but the weekend pass to the Paddock Club for only $7,000US sounds up my alley, open bar after all, lol.....Blair
