  • Class 6 motorcycle classes

Anyone interested in signing up this season to get their class 6 moorcyclr license? I already have mind but it's been a couple of years since so I wanted to do a refresher. Just send a PM or reply. The classes fill up quick so the sooner the better. I'll update the thread with the schools, location and prices.

I went to the one held at crowchild trail. It's either too cool motorcycle school or Calgary safety council. I can't recall.

I did the scooter version with Calgary Safety Council a couple years back, was where the new Stampede Toyota is now.

There are a couple options for classes.. You can do a weekend course saturday and sunday and a wednesday classroom course. From Calgary Safety Council the cost is $450.

                  Re: Class 6 motorcycle classes

It was mentioned above (scooter version)
There are some people that want to drive motorcycles, but don't want to pay the $500+ for the safety course to hopefully learn something and get their license.
So the scooter option is there, cost is hundreds less, and you still get a class 6.
Not saying that you should do it for driving a motorcycle, but the loophole exists. Take a motorcycle course if that's what you will drive, you'll be much better off knowing how to drive a motorcycle properly.

p.s. I know Blair, you have/had a scooter and that's why you took it.

Yes I took the scooter version because we bought a scooter, and I did pass the Class 6 test, but never ended up getting the license as we sold the scooter. However I would no where near have the skills needed to drive a motorcycle from that class.

I'm pretty sure that if you do the full course you'll get a break on the insurance and from what I've been told by many is that Too Cool is much better then Calgary Safety Council......

Yeah they give you a break but motorcycle insurance is already cheap enough on its own. Not to mention $15 gas fill ups every 2 weeks Lol. If anyone is interested in learning how to drive a 600cc bike well they should do things properly. I've fallen off my bike a couple of times the first season and that's after going through classes. I hope no one takes the loophole method of obtaining a class 6 and proceeds to drive a 600cc bike let alone a litre one. IMO I wouldn't cut corners motorcycle accidents can get pretty nasty.

Bump for more interest. I can't do a refresher since I no longer own a motorcycle :(

I went to Stampede Driving school when I got my bike license a couple summers ago, was cheaper, and got in quicker then the rest of the schools.
