Spring is coming (keep your fingers crossed!) and it's time to wax up the rides and put on the summer wheels. What missing?! Your thoughts of the best roads/highways in Alberta for driving of course!
Let's get it organized:
1: Whats the highway/road name or even street name? Anything special to note and see?
2: Where to depart from and to go?
3: How long is trip?
I saw this from another board and thought it might be cool to see what everything thinks:
I'll start of course:
1. Highway 1A - careful of live stock and animals, speed limit is 80 but its lots of fun. A little rough in the paving in some spots but no big problems. Lots of twists and turns with elevation changes. Mountains to see, mountain goats and general National Park scenery
2. Depart from Calgary, heading west on 1A to Canmore, get back onto Highway 1 and pass the Sunshine ski exit, back onto 1A and continue to Lake Louise.
3. Depending if you want to stay in the mountain or continue onto somewhere else like Jasper this can take a few days to a 4 hour loop.
