Thanks for the additions, I used to really like MGMT, but seems to me they just got very overplayed and now the track Kids just gets me angry.


Well on to today's selection, I am going with a Drum & Bass track this morning from Chase & Status who are setting the D&B world on fire as of late, and the vocals provided by Plan B who is a very talented person. The song is featured in the movie Harry Brown, in which Plan B also stars opposite Michael Caine, I really want to see this movie but only getting limited release here at the end of April but DVD is releasing in the UK in just a couple weeks.

I know I can find it if I want, still just like having the DVD, and actually buying DVDs from the UK is quiet cheap, most are under 10 pounds with VAT in so take that off and cover the shipping and you are set. I do an amazon.co.uk order every couple months to stock up on my obscure movies and tv shows.

Anyway on to my song for today, well I am actually going to put up two today that share a connection. Firstly I think on the start of the second page a remix of Simian Mobile Disco was put up, which came from the album Temporary Pleasure, I think is a great disc, a sort of collaboration album. The song I have selected is kind of a comment on pop culture/society and has a very entertaining video as well.

Now my second selection is related as the vocals in the SMD song were by Chris Keating, who is also the singer of Yeasayer which is an experimental rock band from Brooklyn. They have toured with MGMT and Beck and have recently released their second album, "Odd Blood," from which this is the first single and I think a very enjoyable track.

Today's song is my current favorite off the new Groove Armada CD entitled Black Light. The album is quite different and darker then their previous releases but still very good IMO. This particular song features vocals by Nick Littlemore who is also in the acts PNAU and Empire Of The Sun (Walking On A Dream is a great song by them) and have gained a fair bit of success in their native Australia.

I heard that Simian Mobile Disco song i posted up at rusko's show two weeks ago(OH! what a great show that was!!) never heard of them before that. Im liking them tho. Its great idea having threads like this, people get too learn and hear new music too them and thats what music is all about!

Good choices Blair, I'm in London this week and was going to go out and see some of the big local DJ's but next week is WMC in Miami so all the big DJ's are touring down to the States and there are not many shows to see here. sucky.... :(
