Anyone been riding/skiing lately?

If so where and what were the conditions like? I havent been riding in a month or so and it seems there hasn't been a lot of snow for a while just about everywhere. I am heading out this weekend and was wondering how things are.

I live in Golden and I've heard Kicking Horse is OK, pretty hard packed. Some friends were at Louise yesterday and said it was getting pretty bare in spots. Revelstoke will be the same condition as Golden, the weather has been so warm all month. Hope that helps somewhat!

Thanks, that is what I suspected. Bare spots = bad. I just got my wife a new snowbaord and there is nothing nicer on your first day out with a new board than hitting a nice big-assed rock.

yea i haven't been out once this year ( i fail) but friends were at sunshine recently and said it was icy as hell now

Stop by my place one evening and I'll put a razor edge on the boards so they can hold better on the ice.

Thanks for the offer, I tune my board regularly and usually keep my edges pretty sharp.

Though that raises a question, I wonder if there is anything different to tuning a mervin manufaturing board with MTX (wife's new board is a Gnu B-Nice)?

Supposedly they make smaller edgers specifically for the MTX now. It might be worth looking into.

Just got back from Kelowna. I went to Silverstar and Big White. Not the biggest hills, but the snow was amazing. Of the two i prefer Big White, there was so much powder!

Going to Fernie the next couple days they have 43 cm in last 7 days. Conditions should be pretty sick.

I was out last Friday at Sunshine and the snow was great, they have been getting some good snow and really I only found Goats Eye a bit ice but other than that all up angel is great riding, Continental is awesome as usual and Standish is always fun. The only crappy thing about Sunshine is the lack of sunshine!!!!

Was at Louise this past weekend, and yes, some spots, rocks are peeking through, and anything near 0 degrees the mountain is trash.

Lol. I know. Sunshine is not very well named. Kind of like Greenland. Good to know it is in ok shape.
