  • Re: Home Theater Build

have you ever thought about ditching the (tacky) projector screen pull down and just getting the material stretched over a wood frame (or because it looks like oyu are handy do it yourself)?

Personally in the two home theatres i've done for my parents places i've chosen a grey paint for the walls and used specially designed reflective paint made for projectors for the wall area that the projector displays on. Its grey in color so whne the lights are on its hardly noticeable, but it looks very good and no gimmicky drop down screen.

I'd go with the paint as stated by Andrew. Works really well!

Here's a link to ScreenGoo Paint, you put your configuration into their system and it tells you which one works best for you.

If you look at the pics you can see there is a pony wall behind the screen i would have to build out the wall first.

My original plan was to do a paint screen with border but the contractor left the pony wall in even though i had asked for him to wall it up.

i thought i noticed that, hence the suggestion of framing the fabric and just using that.

Framing the fabric then mounting and making it look nice and match the maple you assholes are going to cost me another $250 in just wood costs. I need to finish the inside of the speaker box first then i will think about it.

It would be epic if it was dual 12" sub enclosures but I am guessing not.

Another good idea but subs already over in the corner and never get to turn it up that loud with the little man around anyways.

Hopefully my plans are just as epic tho.

Is it something as simple as a DVD rack? other wise what else would you put in there? dead bodies?

It does have a 2.5 dead hooker capacity same as the Audi trunk but still not it. There are actually hints in the photos if you look closely.

But i will not be using a plastic school chair and his seating position is just terrible.

Decided to use the race car seat mold and make a new seat.

Mock up a frame for the seat.

Test that the sides won't be to high.

Will have adjustable pedal and steering wheel locations in case someone else wants to try. Should have the seat ready enough to start mounting this weekend then onto steering wheel and pedals.
