have you ever thought about ditching the (tacky) projector screen pull down and just getting the material stretched over a wood frame (or because it looks like oyu are handy do it yourself)?
Personally in the two home theatres i've done for my parents places i've chosen a grey paint for the walls and used specially designed reflective paint made for projectors for the wall area that the projector displays on. Its grey in color so whne the lights are on its hardly noticeable, but it looks very good and no gimmicky drop down screen.
