  • iphone plan question

    Hey guys,

I'm looking at getting an iPhone and am trying to sort out the plans and it's pretty much getting me down.

Does anyone have a plan and carrier to recommend for the following:

    between 250-400 minutes,
    at least 1GB of data
    caller id
    voicemail
    at least 250 text msgs.

By the way, the phone will be based in and used mostly in the Okanagan (Westbank)

    Thanks!

    Re: iphone plan question

i'm with fido with 500mb and have not gone over it at all.. I use maps, facebook, and safari on a regular basis and some other apps that use data as well... I have unlimited text, caller id and voicemail, and unlimited evenings and weekends.. I don't even go over my minutes either but I text almost everytime.

I'm sure Jayson will chime in.

I don't know if they carry or will carry the IPhone, but if you're in the BlackBerry Market, look at WindMobile.

Can't do Wind - they don't have "home" coverage in BC yet.

                  Re: iphone plan question

I did a Telus test Iphone at work and the plan was much more reasonable than I was expecting (the good ol 8megs for 30 bucks crap).

I think it was 60 bucks for 800 minutes or whatever, then 40 dollars for 500megs data? Might even be 1 GB. And I think that included unlim text. Then 10 bucks for the visual voicemail.

With blackberry there's a BES plan for $45 that's 500 megs, visual voicemail, unlimited messaging, call disp.

                    Re: iphone plan question

Plans aren't too bad, I'm with rogers on an iphone, my bill monthly comes to $68 (I never really look at the breakdown of what I pay for which)

8 gb of data - This was the promotion when I got it
                    250 daytime minutes
                    Unlimited Ev/Weekends
                    Voicemail
                    Call Display
                    1000 Text

The other thing to get your bill down is threatening to cancel, my bills went down significantly. See what you can get as a retention plan with your current carrier if you have one.

yup, we had them 1 month before the 1st gen's were release in the states 3 years or whatever ago. Had it for a year......great phone as a "toy" but can't hold a candle to a BB when it comes to business.

I cannot see anywhere that the OP stated it is for business use. For personal use, they can be nicer due to the range of 3rd party apps but this depends on what you like to do with your phone.
