    Re: iphone plan question

i think a lot of people that don't like the iphone just haven't found out what it can do yet. Even without call capability my itouch has been super useful. The Iphone can do essentially everything the BB can and more.

And with internet calling you can call anywhere in the world for free if you are connected to the internet. (may require jailbreaking to run the app, not sure)

I went to windmobile last night, they do not carry the Iphone and don't think it can be put on one of their plans, they strictly do BB it seems.

edit: I would really like to know what makes the BB more useful for business. My dad is looking at getting a business phone, he has looked at BBs and the iphone and needs to decide between the two. So far he has found the iphone way more user friendly.

yes because email is so dificult to do on my i phone? i can talk on the phone do my quick books ( there is an app for that ) surf the web what else do you have to do on a phone , alex you hate on a phone that continually improves itself and upgrades without charging the customer a thing (as opposed to a new phone evry three months , if apple has some new idea on operating software they just send it out and basically give you a new phone ), i phone is a timeless phone and wil be arround for way after your three year contract is up.
you have had three or four bb since your i phone so what makes you think i phone hasent upgraded , .
ok to further my point here is all the bb that have been released since the iphone has been out ,

      8700

8700 updated (there were many 8100s but just slightly diferent for diferent carriors)

      8100 pearl

8120 pearl (higer resolution of corse ((lol))

      8130 mp3 added

      then there were pearl flips

then there are th 88 models

      the curve

      the javilin

      the bold

and because it had overheating and major software issues the released a newer bold seven months later . in all fairness it was there first attempt at 3g and well you cant get that right on your first try .....can you.LOL
      the newer bold

then they tried the cant beat them (evn tho there overall sales dwarfs apple)
they gave us this clicking touch phone
      storm

but we do now have the tour

          Now for i phone
here we have the i phone (gen one on left 2007)
and 3 g in right (three g on right 2008)

and then the 3 g on left and to the right 3gs

all three phones look like this on the front .

all run the same 3.0+ software and all are still current and in use, u still can buy the 3g alongside the 3gs , and if you want i can give you the names of at least 4 local companies of wich the owners all tossed thier bb for iphones .

            Re: iphone plan question

I did the BB -> iPhone switch. Basically call it a draw, BB had alot that I liked, battery life and signal being significantly better, iPhone is more fun. The thing I hate most is typing on it, I personally am much slower, I also have *never* dropped more calls than I have on the iPhone.

in response to meyers comment, I don't get this whole BB and email thing either, i've heard several people say " i like my BB because I can get email on it and you can't do that on an iphone", I usually just stare at them blankly and shake my head haha.

exactly! I dropped more calls in the year of having the iphone then I ever did having all my BB's for the last 10 years, in fact I haven't dropped a call once since i switched back to BB on all 3 BB models i've had since (free from Toyota, not because they were defective in anyway.) The biggest thing hands down is Blackberry Massenger. I have 89 contacts where more then 50 are suppliers and co-workers. I do orders, tracking, selling, buying, via bbm with lots being from the states all for free. Also, roaming on an iphone is a killer. At Sema last year, our service manager and I "tested" it out, same amount of emails, internet usage, BUT he texted where I BBM'ed...... My bill was $15 more......his on his 3gs was $359. Just got my bill from when we were in Mexico last month and my bill was $10 more and I used internet, and BBM a **** ton. SO again, for Business the BB trumps the iPhone. Don't get me wrong, I love the iphone for what it can do and this is why i have 2 itouch's, but if you travel/roam the BB is the way to go.

Also, up until last week/month whatever, you couldn't copy and paste on an Iphone which was a HUGE negative for emailing. I get quotes from suppliers and then copy and paste part/prices into the customers email which takes seconds on a bb, with the old iphone, i would have to write it all down and then re-type into the customers email which took forever. I'm way to busy to waste my time with that. Even with the new copy and paste feature on the iphone, it took me 1/3 of the time to copy and paste a order to a customer using bb as it did on my itouch, maybe lack of practice but still not as fast as a bb.

Chris, good pictorial, but your models are not in chronological order......but it's ok arranging 20 phones over 2 is hard work for the short bus posse.

but don't get me wrong, if your getting the iphone for the apps, and you don't travel or rely on it for business, then get the iphone it is the best toy i had/have (with the itouch)

                    Re: iphone plan question

If you have/had connection, email or roaming cost issue, it just means you don't know what you are doing. That is not meant as a put down. There is a lot to know to use one properly....

Huh? How is knowing about connection issues a problem. I know I did the same thing with my BB and never dropped a call, now with the iPhone I probably drop 5% of my calls.

Yeah I must say i'm confused as well. I've had previous phones before (neither BB or Iphone) and dropped tons of calls, now I have a BB and never drop calls. I dont feel I know more about this phone than I did with the others...

                          puff puff pass..........

I dial a number and talk to person on the other end, or they call me and I answer. iPhone, BB, Motorola, Chinatastic no name brand etc, all have dial pads and send/hang up buttons.......it's the antennas and internals that make it drop or not drop calls........

Iphones are known for ridiculous data roaming charges, nothing you can do in "settings" other then turn off data (and that is not an option) to make the charges any cheaper. If you "know what your doing" then you are the only one on the planet as apple and service providers don't have an answer.

they are also becoming the choice of professionals due to various business directed apps
and ease of operation . The sales numbers will show it . in 2010 i belive apple will crush bb now that they are avilible to the other wireless providers , and i can run my cpu off my phone , yea baby

bbys are great for business if your on a true blackberry enterprise server.. i hate BIS setups

but business blackberrys have some extra charges like the $50/device CAL which isn't huge money tho

i like the iphone because no CALs and its basically your ipod too.. well thats if you actually use it for that.. i love the apps too

99% of my clients use bbys tho.. a few users have iphones and thats it

bby has some good apps now tho too..

                              for a personal device iphone

for work/business.. bby or iphone if you use the ipod IMO lol

One big difference between the two is security.....The BB is designed from the ground up as a secure device while the iPhone is not.
