So car got stuck in the snow and as I reversed the bumper caught on one of the snow patches and the bumper is all fucked up. I can't even put into words how I feel right now.. I guess my winter safe set up, or so I thought, was not winter safe at all.. I don't even want to think about the cost it will take to repair the whole thing as I'm so upset and can't think straight. This happened as I was pulling in to our street parking where I live. I've been saving up parts for the car all winter and I was getting real close to where I wanted the car to be for this summer. Anyway i'm thinking of selling every stuff I've been saving up (some valance kits and whatnot). I totally want to give up this hobby now. It was this one thing that I've always loved doing and it's the one thing that fell apart on me today. I will post up pics perhaps later. But I really want to give up the scene at this moment.

Re: My bumper's all fcuked
Its a given when driving any lowered car. Reversing in any type of deep snow = a no no. I did the same thing and got lucky....I hadn't screwed in the sides of my OEM valence so it simply popped off. If it had been screwed in I'm sure it would have messed up the bumper.
Take it as something to learn from...

Re: My bumper's all fcuked
i've pulled of my bumper a couple times. I've had to re-position the fender liner screws more than once. A couple of the bolt holes also pulled apart, so I to put in big washers to hold it on :(.
Given how quick you can swap the front bumper, I think a winter bumper really isn't a bad idea...
Don't feel too bad. This city (country?) is tough on cars. I was hoping to fix up mine, but now there are so many rust spots and paint damage, and chips that are actually dents..., I too am discouraged.
Is the damage contained to just the bumper then?Stefan

Re: My bumper's all fcuked
Don't take it too hard, it's all part of the process and keeps things interesting to fix stuff when it breaks.
You know you can't possibly give in that easily.
If you do you'll regret it once spring rolls around!
