I still think if you can get Conti's for 120CAD each, even with getting gouged on shipping that is going to be a sick deal.

        Re: Tires

I run minions and only minions on my DH bike. Maxxis kills in terms of MTB tires. I have no idea about car tires in regards to tread pattern/technology as I am rarely at the limit of grip. But on my bike, I often find myself pushing that little envelope. Those Minions have incredible grip especially in the triple rubber compounds (3C), they have easily shaved 10+seconds off times compared to some other tires.

I find it strange how I and many people I know drop big cash on bike tires, but have a tough time spending money on car tires. Considering...

          Re: Tires

I have the Goodyear Ultragrip Performance and they are better than summers, but that's about it. Cant say I would buy another set, Blizzak's have always been a reliable winter tire.

            Re: Tires

I think I am fairly set on the Blizzak LM-60s for the winter tire, just need to decide on summers. Now thinking about the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric seems good balance of performance and price and very good in the wet.

I hear what you are saying Kris on the Conti's on that site, my only concern is I cannot find anyone else who sells them in that size,so either a weird Euro size or discontinued which is a bit unsettling. Their contact info is from Oregon so I would imagine you will be getting duty and GST on them as well.

              Re: Tires

Yeah as I said above I really wanted Goodyear F1's for the Cayman, I think it's one of the best tires out there and worth a little extra.

I was thinking you might be able to save a few bucks by getting a slightly off size too... I assume you've been looking at 225/35's

                  Re: Tires

Do they need to 'Break-in'? We installed them on our FJ, and they were better but not spectacular. Then we drove it up to edmonton on bare roads and now they seem better.

                    Re: Tires

they shouldnt have to, weird, may have been weather or something? You won't have the LM60's for the FJ though, they are a performance winter........ You'll have the DM-Z3's (last year's) or DM-V1's (this year's) which are both great winters.

                      Re: Tires

DM-V1's I guess. They are decent, but I donno maybe it is the FJ itself, that thing has some iffy traction. Especially with the ESP on, that **** is scary as well. It won't let you slide when you expect it, but when you don't expect it, that thing trade end for end.

I had to get new tires last year I did quite a bit of reseach and ending up with the Yoko advan s4 -super great tire way better then the Gooodyears that were on before. Dont know if they come in the size you need. 10,000km on them and no problems at all.
