the only issue i'll have with driving the baron come monday morning is the city here has plowed the main BLVD in my neighbourhood.. but left a nice 2' deep drift/bump/wall entering and exiting my culdesac! bah.. same crap last year..

I love my car, except when there's easily 60cm of snow on the ground, or tire tracks dug by a giant ass truck inside that 60cm layer of snow.

Tried to get of my quiet cul-de-sac in Tuscany this afternoon with the GTi. Nope, was actually lucky just to get back in the garage. I will take the Santa Fe avec la blizzaks. I had it out last night and it was pretty fun blasting big ol grill high drifts. Pretty much a gong show in our neighborhood though.

living in airdrie FTW!

city came by this morning and plowed the main blvd in my neighbourhood

then we went out at noon to get groceries and do some errands and come home and the culdesac was plowed too.. only downside they left the snow wall entering our driveways.. but easy enough.. shovel it out in 10 mins and no issues for monday

my whole street is a snow drift.
even got stuck with quattro and winter tires for a few minutes lol.

The tires I got on are doing fairly good with this stuff except when the snow is about 2-3 feet deep in some places I lose grip since low enough and I'm almost 100% sure that the pan is sitting on the snowdrift. I made sure to fill up the tank to get a little bit more weight for grip. I also live in a condo complex where nothing gets plowed. Don't know how monday will work out but oh well. Colin I wanna see pics man!

I had the whole front end of the passat in the drift, like up to the windsheild almost, the front wheels were off the ground. Some guy in a truck came and pulled me out. I'm still waiting for the other picture that has the imprint of my grille in the bank.

He was like, so how did you get in there?

Me: I drove into it....

Him: Like? On purpose?

Me: It was a good idea at the time......

Just got back from a 3-hr tool around the highways and bi-ways of Calgary... including a stopover at SCFC to check out their MK6 GTi. Actually, if I remember correctly... I think I went through a 1/2 tank of gas while doing it.

Had an absolute blast. My favourite was the look on the guy's face who was gingerly piloting his vehicle in the only tire tracks down a snowy hill as I proceeded to go up the hill the other way in the .:R. Priceless.

The R32 is ridiculous in this stuff... just powers through it no trouble at all. I LOVE IT!!

Winter tires ...check. Traction control off ... check. Momentum.. check... Had a blast driving today! Cars only fwd but was fun especialy in the industrail area
