Friction is a pretty basic concept.

Who said it is the older cars that are causing the problem. It is little timmy in his parents BMW that is causing the problems. I never once had an issue in my Mk1 golf. Went everywhere.

                      i walked home
                      2nd st & 4th ave to 6th st and 12th ave.

it was a little slick, but i wouldn't have dared try to skate on the sidewalk or roads, you would have had no blades after 10 steps.
i went out in the gf's mazda3 with all seasons and it was fine. around 12th all the way up into mission on 4th street.

                        Re: snow!

Weird. I walked home from 11ave up 8th st through Mt. Royal and it was like glass, especially once you passed 17th.

Buddy of mine had to leave his little ranger at the bottom of mission hill. It is on some sort of wider tire, but for sure a summer tire and it is 2wd.

                            Re: snow!

So I was told. Yeah I was mainly on less travelled roads. But the ice delayed a bus, which was saweet, so I could catch it.
