Rust is not a crime??? Neither are natural disasters. When a tornado crashes through a building, its not a crime. But if you take a bulldozer and level it without the proper permits, it is a crime. The same goes for rat look cars. They CAN look good, if it is done naturally and overtime. If you decide to cover your car in salt and rust the thing out yourself...FAIL!

everybody has seen the candid "my car in front of nice looking sunset" shot.

having a unique and interesting subject is only part of a photo. Where you choose to place them in another. Seeing things you might not see everyday is interesting, and there are a lot of run down places that are incredible to look at in their own right.
Its the same as portrait photography in old buildings. Everyone has seen the same shots in a seamless white studio. Doing something different is interesting.

That said....you only need to go look at mike boldt's mr2 vs BMW shoot in the member rides section to see that the classic sunrise shot still works and looks hot as hell.

Still doesn't change how I feel about the rat look and rusted cars . When you rust your car out I don't think it's about the money I think.

^^^lol fair enough. Everyone has their own opinions about it, and it probably isnt about the money, but I just hate how it became such a fashion. Its one thing to do it on old cars, but how to people justify rusting out mk4's??? If anyone on here has seen NotoriousNRB's car from Dasdubbers, you'd know what I mean. because the car was already a beater, the rust just added character. but it has to all flow. you dont see any shiny parts on his car or even rims for that matter. but it looks pretty good.

No, actually he has never had to swap a sub-frame. Dewey smashed 2 maybe 3. Jesse is like a F1 driver, but instead of high-speed, we are talking about ultra-low.

ahh ok. Sorry I had them mixed up. I knew one of them could swap a sub-frame in about 1.5 hours. haha. As for Jesse's driving, thats just nuts
