    This thread is crazy weird.....

Anvil: The Story of Anvil, not as serious a documentary but if you don't mind metal a very entertaining and even somewhat heart warming tale.

This whole concept of being able to randomly test your BAC is also ridiculous.

1984 and Fahrenheit 451 are actually scary when you start to look at the world.

On the whole RFID thing. If I could have a chip implanted in me, that opens my door, starts my car, acts as a visa/debit card. Takes away the need for keys and most of a wallet, I would be game. Although the tracking possibilities of that does bug me significantly. That and the gun registry.

Re: Documentary: Fall of the republic

I don't know how people can be that selfish, or corporations think its moral and right.

One example that i learned about and caught my attention recently, was the coal mining industry, where people working for the companies were slaves, legal slaves no matter your' race, and if you were born into the coal mining family you were automatically property. All over the world governments had policies, to benefit the corporations/businesses and utilize the people as a expendable resource.

Not to far fetched to think they would want to do that now and continue the practice.

"Not a hundred years ago, a system of servitude still existed in Scotland, sanctioned by the practice of two centuries, by virtue of which colliers and their families were fixed to the soil almost as effectually as if they had been bought in the slave-market of New Orleans or born in the hut of a negro on some Virginian plantation."

"While researching coal mining history, an author recently discovered additional information regarding the use of life insurance policies for coal mining slaves. "These policies provided a risk-free opportunity for the owners to lease slaves; but it was far from risk-free for the slaves who were forced to work in the extremely hazardous conditions of the mines." Insurance companies even wrote policies on 12-year-old slaves who labored underground in the mine""

        There is other examples.

i don't think the RFID is quite that advanced as to be able to track you. however if it was it would have benefits and draw backs just like anything else.

I watched some of the film but I had to stop, much of it is fear mongering. Many of the arguments presented were not well balanced and some were very questionable and flawed. For example they kept blaming Obama for not doing this and that. Well the last time I checked America is a Democracy, the president actually does not hold the power. The power is split between the different houses. If he did hold the power to change everything he said then America would be a dictatorship.
For the arguments presented a 'alternative' argument is not stated to balance questions raised.
