It's working yes! Got it running in windows 7 but still have a couple issues.
1. It's really choppy but that's due to needing a better video card. I had a feeling I'd need a better one but gave it a try first.
2. When changing channels, it transmits the signal to the receiver (via the IR blaster) but then seems to shut off (blue light shuts off and red light on the front shuts off) but then comes back on. While it's doing this it says it has no video but everything comes back.
3. Still need to set up my resolution to utilize more of my screen area.
Haven't had too much time to look at the issues. Was going to buy a video card after work today but didn't get off on time, was thinking either a 9500 or 9800GT should do the trick.
Edit, it seems like it turns off and on periodically, not quite sure why.
Got the vid card installed, still having the same issue. Some searching on google there's a lot of people having similar issues. Sounds like you can get around it with DVBlink. I'll have to look to see if that firewire link you posted will work with my receiver.
With the new vid card it's awesome though, got rid of all the choppyness. If I can get this thing changing channels properly I'll be a happy camper.
less is more. uninstall all your sh!t. base drivers. don't read forums. turn off power saving, hibernation. check your msconfig.exe and make sure the startup is loading nothing. remove everything, don't even run spyware. don't waste your time with "utilities" feeling as if they are awesome. they waste your and my time. hate threads like this.
turn all power savin features off. remove all apps. then, it will work.
This is used strictly for tv and ripping my DVD's to the hdd for later viewing. there is really nothing extra on it, I don't have any antispyware as I rarely browse the internet with it. I did turn off antivirus, closed all tasks etc and it was still choppy. Even with the old set up (pre hi def) it was barely holding on but I managed to keep it looking pretty good. I have all sleep/power saving features disabled as it needs to record and update the guide etc at any time.
As for my video, I was using the onboard video on a several year old motherboard and now that I've upgraded it is perfect.
I've gone through the product website as well as DVBlink which made a driver for integrating with media center before the Hauppauge one was released and this is an issue.
I haven't been posting on every forum saying "OMGZ MY COMPUDER IS BROKE". This thread was at one point updates on win 7 media center setups and I'm continuing on with it.
Edit: I'll check the windows services though, just to be sure, thanks for the heads up.
