  • TV provider woes

I recently changed my Bell package from 95 bucks a month to 35 bucks a month

during my cheapo'ing of my account i lost some of the channels i enjoyed like hgtv, food, comedy and a few others

of course bell won't let you subscribe to individual channels or will they if you call and complain anyone know?

i got sick of pay 100 bucks a month for TV as I miss shows and borrow them alot of the time afterwards but late nights southpark is tits for me and cooking shows

That my friend is how they make the big bucks.

I'm not as familiar with bell, but i know with starchoice they give a few options on subscribing to individual channels, maybe tell them shaw/starchoice is offering you a good bonus for starting up with them cause you can get the channels you want, individually?

I have been cable free for over a year now, not a huge tv watcher in general but I can find everything I would like with relative ease. A dvd player with a USB drive that plays avi files is my provider, only thing that is tough is sporting events, but I save enough to go to Seattle and watch the NFL in person like this weekend coming

I thought they weren't allowed to do that? I'm pretty sure you can buy individual channels....

                    Internet.

Download whatever you like to watch whenever you want.

Screw broadcast TV. It is a ripoff.

                      Re: TV provider woes

haha i pretty much do that now other than the fact i have 3 tvs.. i may need to run ethernet to the other tvs (oddly wireless on the xbox is fine for ftp uploads to the HD but streaming it sucks.. even on the 360 streaming will lag on my wireless).. take the 2 xbox1s i have and use them to stream to those TVs and use the popcorn hour for MKVs and HDTV stuff on the new lcd in the bonus room (which is where my bell hd sits now)

but can someone explain this one.. i was so annoyed on the phone today

i get my bell bill for this month its for october 9-nov8..

my new 35/mo plan kicked in on nov 9

the bill states i owe 96.99 my old monthly fee!!! UMMM for lower service WTF

i changed my plan on sept 13 and the bill was printed on october 6. that is one crappy as accounting/billing system they have

the moron on the phone refuses to let me talk to his manager and keeps telling me i have to pay the 96.99 and then next month i'll have a credit!!!!!!! WTF is that for

TELL ME HOW MUCH I SHOULD BE PAYING FUCKO

so i'm just giving them 38 bucks and they can shove it.. if next month they say i have a penalty fee i'm canceling my service completely and they can suck it

i tried to push on single channels and no go.. he said the system won't let him do it so i shut him down with how the fark can you subscribe to just playboy or sports channels then you moron!!! he had no reply

so i just hung up on the idiot

and replied back to my email about service change from back in september and quoted them saying to me 'you new bill is 35/month starting october 9, 2009'

you dead fuckers!.. i swear i want to pay my next bill with a written cheque like that verizon one with all the math on it and put in the comments 'bump bump a rump bump big c*nt!'

Yeah I had a problem with bell sat years ago, something like this and won't ever go back. I called to cancel my service as I was moving at the end of the month. They said I had to pay for a another month because I didn't give them enough notice with the bill times. Fine, only problem is next month they charge my credit card again for another month. I got on the phone, and yeah you will get the money back eventually. Being a student at the time this was not good and I have and will never go back to a bell product again. Its probably why I don't mind dealing with Shaw, I want to change my billing changes that day as well. None of this notice bull crap that Bell gave me.

                            Re: TV provider woes

I'm pretty sure I'm blacklisted from Bell after (trying to) have internet with them out east. I got them to set it up, and it never worked, the tech standing there agreed with me, he insisted they had to and would fix it remotely, thus I let him go, nothing ever seemed to happen, a couple days later I called, and they claimed to be connecting to the modem, there was no service from my end, and I explained this. They were giving me the incorrect MAC address from the modem they were connecting to, and claimed was mine.

I even went so far as to unplug the modem from the wall, and they claimed they were still connecting to it, and that I was mistaken that it was removed from the wall. Which I'm reasonably certain it was.

They claimed it was a problem on my end, and would need to send a specialist out (read: 3 week wait) and it would be $200, at which point I told them to shove it. I got billed later for 1 month service, set up fee, and early cancellation fee. After about 2 hours on the phone they claimed the money would be refunded in 8-10 weeks. When I asked why so long there was no clear answer. To make it short, I called Mastercard, reversed the charge, with no hassle from MC, and it was done. For the next 3 years they sent me notices claiming I 'owed' them the money they were supposed to refund, when I would call, they asked me just to pay it so they could refund it 8-10 weeks later.

                            **** that.

Long story short, **** Bell, thank god for Mastercard.
