it was fine on the highway until i hit the burbs and then it was crazy
my tires are high perf all seasons which means crap.. boy was i sliding around hahahah..

need to get my winter car soon.. but its 2 hours away

I am still, been wanting to just get a new jack so I can change myself but have not gotten around to it yet. Hard to say that since my tires are so overkill on that car if it is worse than some all seasons, as driving cautiously this morning I was not too bad at all, and even got off the line better than some FWD cars. I use a lot of coasting and downshifting to slow in the winter time and being off the throttle in the Smart basically means it almost stops dead. Hopefully I will make it to get a jack in the next day or two though.

Had fun in the .:R this morning. Although I have the 18" F1 all seasons on the car, it still preformed quite well. Can't wait to toss on the Hakkapelitas!!

Last wednesday, the morning of the day we got our first sprinkling of snow. Pirelli Winter Carving Edge. The ride in this morning was easy as hell, drove past a five car pileup on 53rd street, watched as people somehow managed to slide all over the place. It was a fun reminder of just how badly people drive when they see snow. I mean when people are going under 15 - 20km/h and instead of evenly braking they romp on the brakes and then wonder why their car slid out into another lane.

Took me exactly 2 hours to drive from coach hill to u of c today. People really need to learn how to ease on the throttle rather than just floor it when they are trying to go up a hill from a dead stop. Winter tires help too.

Lucky you, the rest of us were probably much later. Even cutting through things like bus stations and taking on ramps to cut out gridlock in certain areas I was still 35 minutes late, that includes leaving early too. One of our service techs went home and had a cup of coffee to let it all blow over, smart fella.

yea took my bus 1.5 hours to get to downtown from panorama which was brutal

bus didnt' help as he was sliding and spinning all over the place.. kinda scary actually

my tires right now are kuhmo asts.. worked fine.. a bit slippery on the ice compared to true winters...

Call me! We can do a Starbucks rally... err, I mean... run one of these weekends in the .:R's.

My summers are still on for now. Will likely change them out about Remembrance Day. Last year I waited til December 1st. For me... October is too early for snow tires... if it snows, I just take the bus and then wait 2 days (ie. look at the forecast) and its back to balmier Calgary temps. As such, Remembrance Day is a good compromise and it also helps me to "remember" what day to take my summers off.

P.S. If you're curious, I take my winters off on April Fools day.

glad I had them this morning. came down the hill on the north sid of chinook and the car 3 cars up slid down, then the one 2 cars up slid in to him, and the one in front of me slid in to the other 2.

I went around....
