Im am soo pissed off. I soo soo pissed.

Ive been driving AT the speed limit everyday. So much so I even set my cruise control to it. I cant afford to speed as my insurance is a whopping $2600.
Yet I still get a ticket.
I turn onto Elbow drive and I dont know what the speed limit is. So I keep it at 45. After less than a minute I realise its a 30 zone. So I tap my brakes and drop my speed to 30 as any good person would do.

    I get a $80 fine today, 45km in a 30km zone.

I know I dont get demirits, but does this stay on my record file thing?

On your record for 2 years.

And clearly you don't drive speed limit everyday. It's pretty obvious when you're in a playground/school zone.

EDIT: Didn't read that it was photo radar, charged to the owner of the vehicle. Will not effect insurance rates.

It won't affect you, photo radar is just a cash grab.

        Re: Photo Radar

insurance won't care about 1 ticket, especially if its minor.
The city does put playground zones in some ridiculous places. anywhere where there is major road with more than one lane in each direction, the playgrounds are generally well fenced off. keep your damn kids of the street and let cars drive!

but as long as there is a sign, ya gotta slow down. even if the sign is behind an overgrown tree as a whack of them are. in that case, you should just know....

I might be mixed up, but I am pretty sure insurance doesn't care either, because photo radar doesn't show the driver. No points, no increase in insurance, no deterrent. Just cash for the city.

Ah the speed on green cameras. My girlfriend got a high speed driving award in the mail today as well, 16th Avenue and 10th Street NW.

be happy you got a photo radar and didn't get pulled over, because i've had a number of these and they don't affect your insurance so don't worry your insurance wont go up because of this.

Even if you get pulled over you can go down to court before the ticket date and make a plea bargain with the prosecutor. Say you want it changed to a "Registered Owner" ticket which is essentially multi nova ticket and as long as you're willing to pay the fine, weren't excessively speeding, (<20-25 over limit) and you don't have a large record of driving offences you're good to go.

More of a pain in the ass tho, who knows maybe someone needs to take time off work, or maybe it's not so close to work to just swing by and every single time i went there HUGE LINE UPS ... so it's better to get a photo radar. But I see your point that even if he were to get pulled over he'd still have a chance on not fkn up his insurance.

haha, yes but at least u only have to pay the ticket off and ur done.
if you get pulled over and it affects your insurance u not only pay the ticket or half it or w/e but lets just say you dont go and talk to a prosecutor but when your insurance renews you'll be paying more for that also..
