Re: vac-u-flo
This kit has the power head and all the attachments plus it has an install kit for the floor sweeper dustpan thing and some of the pipe to hook it all up. I am going to pick one up on Mon when the sale starts. The specs on the kit say that it is good for a 5000 sq ft house.2004 VW Jetta TDI Sport

Re: vac-u-flo
I bought the Costco Hoover kit back in '03 for our home.
Works pretty good. No regrets, but the belt finally started slipping on the power head recently. Might have to do some fixing on it soon.
One suggestion: vent the exhaust to the garage to cut down on dust inside your home. Or you can get exhaust filter / mufflers, but I like the garage idea better.Yes, I drive one of those "olympic" cars with the rings on the front....

Re: vac-u-flo
I saw this thread back in September and bought the kit, I haven't installed it yet. I'll likely be venting the exhaust to the outside. When they "roughed in" our house they only just run them into the basement so install will take a while as I'll have to run all the piping through the basement.Jay

Re: vac-u-flo
When I finished my basement I installed all the piping. The kitchen dust collector is a must! I would vent it to the outside and put a muffler on it. I would suggest to NOT go to home depot/Rona for your vacuum. They sell the Braun/NuTone ones that are a piece of $h!t. Mine started shutting down every 5 minutes after it only being a year and a half old. Phoned around for parts and they said it has happened to every one they sold, one guy even admits he hates selling them to people.Name: Brent
